I’m certain at least one of these statements is true for you:
(I’ve said them all myself!)
- I’m not sure I’m qualified to teach my children.
- I’m completely overwhelmed.
- I don’t know what subjects to teach or curricula to use.
- The homeschool terminology confuses me (what is curricula?).
- I didn’t plan to homeschool.
- The idea of homeschooling through high school makes my palms sweaty.
- I’m spiritually weary.
- My children don’t cooperate.
- I’m not sure I can successfully homeschool.
- I love my kids and want to do what’s best for them.
You are Uniquely Equipped
The most significant statement is the last one: “I love my kids and want to do what’s best for them.” I’m certain that statement is true for you. And that is what equips you to overcome the fear, the confusion, and the discouragement.
Be assured: as a loving parent committed to being diligent, you can homeschool your children successfully. You are uniquely equipped to teach your kids because you love them and know them in ways no one else does. You may need help with homeschooling along the way, but you can homeschool your children successfully! Somehow, our culture has led us to believe otherwise. (Considering a private, Christian school? Need Help with Homeschooling?
I know homeschooling has a steep learning curve. I know you “don’t know what you don’t know.” But you’ll get there. Give yourself grace. Remember that God is so much bigger than our inabilities. Check out my Blog posts, and connect with me if you need help, so you can homeschool confidently.
I have learned so much on our family’s homeschool journey. Read the “About” page if you are wondering who the mom is behind all the words. And thank you for letting me be a little part of your journey, in your season of homeschooling! May we faithfully disciple our children for Christ.
It is no. small. feat.
But we remember:
“‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.’”
Jeremiah 32:17 (ESV)
He is mighty in power!
